The whole playground at the school where I work is a awash with slush and ice as the low pressure settled over Bergen and washed the snow away. Rivers of snow melt are running down the road past our apartment. Oh well, it was good while it lasted.
'I can see clearly now the (snow) has gone' - Martin, after a day of mourning I can now see a future without the snow :-) I can go back to some road running and go on the bivvy trip I've been planning for the past two weeks!
Nielsen - I will be using my old three season Alpkit Hunka in Norway, in December.... (there goes my covert planning too - hopefully the weather gods haven't heard me!). There is snow above 400m but I plan to camp below the tree-line with a fire and I'll double bag a down sleeping bag inside a lightweight synthetic. It won't be luxury but it'll be an adventure!
I anticipate bivying next weekend in Sweden, the bivy will be used to keep the wind and rain out in the shelters, or escape the boy scout troop who arrive to use the shelter.

Life sure is cruel hey. Never mind there will be more to come.

Which bivy are you using?

Nielsen - we'll compare bivvy notes next week. Fingers crossed for a high pressure....
