Making the most of it

With the snow sticking around you'd be a fool not to be outside enjoying it at every opportunity so I vowed to get out and ski the local trails everyday while it's here. Yesterday we were blessed with sunshine.

On the far side of the reservoir a lot of the trails were untouched and the deep powder was a joy to ski through.

Lunch stop atop a perfect log chair. Hot blueberry toddy and even more gingerbread kept my fuel tank topped up.

A dead body was found in this valley amongst suspicious circumstances many years ago. I was hoping I wasn't going to be added to the tally when I skied down the path that runs along the edge of the copse of fir trees in the middle of the picture.

Fantastic photos, though I wondered why is it you get snow and sunshine. Here it is snow and greyness.

Awesome photies, Joe! I do it like you, enjoy the snow while it lasts (it does last here till the end of April, though). Tonight sleeping outside in my Scarp 1. Yeah!

Roger - thank you. I think Bergen deserves a bit of sunshine after the appalling, wet summer and months of greyness we endured over the autumn! It'll be your turn again soon enough!

Fraser - ahh, been there. Get well soon.

Hendrik - thanks. That damn Gulf Stream will have Bergen back to grey, cold rain before too long. Today's ski session was done in the dark. So much fun and scary at the same time. Good luck in the Scarp!

really great pictures

Wooki - thank you for your kind words but mother nature does most of the work. When she puts on a display like that day I just take my point-and-shoot camera, point it and shoot!

you must have nearly finished that ginger bread house by now

Kate - we've not even started on the house yet, still ploughing through the tin of gingerbread hearts, angels and stars that we made at the same time as the house.

Bobinson - cheers, it really is. I can't see me moving anywhere else for a while.
