Silver linings

There is one good thing about the entire week of rain we've just had here on the west coast of Norway, the waterfalls are full and spectacular, even the ones only a few feet high. The air in the forest was cool, damp and still and the sound of water resonated through the mossy trees in every direction. Out on the summit the wind raged and blew low clouds across the landscape like exhaled smoke. It was good to be out again but I could do with change of scenery. Plans are afoot. Trains tickets have been purchased. Accommodation booked. Rusty skiing skills will have to be remembered.

Roger - thanks! Looking forward to the skiing a lot. It's a great way to get around the hills in the winter.

Hendrik - thank you. I cheated a bit, I took the photo in Program mode on a long shutter speed and self timer on a tripod to keep the camera steady. Yes, I'd really like to plan a real deep winter backpacking trip in Finland. Snow-shoeing maybe? Another way of getting around in the winter.

Kate - I'll do my best! I always like taking photos in the snow, especially B&W.

Dave - if I can do it, anyone can, believe me! Rock steady camera and a long shutter speed got this shot.

Very lovely photo! I love hiking out to visit waterfalls, although they are much fewer where I live

Bettymountaingirl - thank you. Waterfalls still captivate me, even though I'm surrounded by them in this country. The ones I saw on my Hardanger trip in the summer were amazing.
