Warning: may contain shot

Schools is out for 'winter break' so I spent a long cold, wet day in the hills. I stopped halfway round in the shelter of a massive boulder to heat up one of those 'Look What We Found' meals that I was given as a Christmas stocking filler. Wild Rabbit in Leek and Elderflower sauce with Camargue rice. Lightweight it may not have been but boy was it tasty.

Wow, that sounds good. I'm off back to the UK at the end of the month, I think a couple of those might find their way onto the shopping list..

They're amazing Chris. A bit heavy (because they're not dehydrated) but the pouch is pretty tough so they can be stuffed in the rucksack. You could heat them through in the pan but I prefer to 'boil in the bag' then use the hot water for a coffee. I've always found them in Waitrose.

Now I wonder, if you had a dehydrator, could you ...

I'm in the UK at the end of march must pay a visit to Waitrose.

Nielsen - I reckon they would work in a dehydrator no problem and be cheaper and tastier than the usual dehydrated meals although the Turmat ones are pretty good.

My good lady brought back another variety of the LWWF range for me to try - Beef and Basil Meatballs in Tomato Sauce but this one doesn't include pasta or other carbohydrate.
